Since I’ve finished my first year of university, I have little else to do with weigh up the decision of whether to stay in London indefinitely, or sign a work transfer and pray somewhere at home hires me. Seems like I’ve made that decision this week.
I got a third job opportunity to work in East London / Rotherhithe to bring my hours up to 30+ with Wetherspoons, which I’ve agreed to take, which means I’m split between two pubs now and will be absolutely raking in the pennies at the cost of my already-frankly-non-existent social life.
On top of that, as with the decision of moving out because my rent contract ends August 31st, I’ll obviously have to worry about finding a new house and a new job regardless, as well as weighing up the option of moving somewhere closer to SW15/KT2 so I’d be down the road from uni - always a benefit, right? Especially considering I commute for an hour thereabouts at the moment.
Well, I’m going to stay in Southeast London when my housemates move out, probably still in Lewisham as well. Different house, I’ll probably get a flat, but I almost definitely want to stay in the same area I reckon. At most, I’d probably end up moving to West Dulwich, Loughborough, or Tulse Hill.
Kinda happy I’m slowly making these decisions based on what’s presented to me, because there seemed to be a lot of them earlier in the year… Just gonna focus on work now and get my rent and bills paid, and hopefully come September, I’ll be in a happy place.
I never wish any of my friends a happy birthday online because I can’t ever tell who’s birthday it really is on facebook anymore.
